The River Carron Restoration Project continues to make headlines with a record catch last season of 400 salmon (all returned to the river). The latest on the project can now be followed on the Blog (see link below), which our new Fisheries Biologist Jonah is updating on a daily basis. Currently the last few broodstock salmon are being stripped of eggs which will be reared through for release as fry, parr and smolts later in the year.

based on my observation about salmons they are really a survivor fish...because when they lay their eggs they go to the top fresh water river and struggle on climbing falls.... but when the siblings are older enough they went to the sea to fully grow in there.
